Nike Golf Wedges
Wedges are the golf irons that more than usually have a loft of more than a 44 degree angle. Pitching wedges are designed to have a loft of 44-50 degrees and are almost identical to all the other golf irons. These are also referred to as 'chippers' in the UK.
Sand wedges vary from the other irons carried in golf bags and have specially designed undersides that use a feature known as the "bounce", which is combined with a loft of 54-58 degrees make them suitable for those tricky shots from sand traps, which are commonly known as bunkers or from the rough which is usually the longer grass on either sand of the fairway.
Gap wedges, which are not as common represent a compromise between the pitching wedge and sand wedge-hence the name.
Lob wedges have a very high loft (up to 68 degrees) and are used for approach shots to the green, from sand, or difficult recovery shots requiring an extraordinarily high shot and short distance. Most golf club manufacturers now offer most lofts between 48 and 60 degrees, in a large variety of bounces. Nike golf is no different.
There are a full range of sand, pitching and lob wedges to choose from.
These include the Nike SV tour wedge, the ignite sand wedge, which you can buy either steel shaft or graphite, there is also the TW range, (Tiger Woods), the CPR range and the Slinshot models.
