Woods and drivers
There are several different kinds of Nike Golf clubs that are commonly used on the course or practice ranges. Firstly you have the woods. These tend to be labelled by size, five woods being the smallest or lightest, right up to the one wood which is the biggest or heaviest. Less common but also used is a seven wood. These tend to be used mainly for the opening shot of the hole and depending on how
far you need to hit the ball, should have influence on which Nike golf club to use. This
is called the tee shot as the golf ball is generally placed on a little plastic support named a tee. This enables the golfer to hit the ball from underneath more cleanly helping him get a better angle of trajectory to aid getting the ball further. These clubs are known as woods or drivers.
Irons
Other golf clubs used are irons. This are also numbered, but you have more to choose from one to nine. Golfers with lower handicaps tend to go for the lower golf irons as they are harder to hit with, but have more control over the actual ball.
Sand and pitching wedges
Next in a Nike golf bag, you will find the wedges. There are two main types, the sand wedge and the pitching wedge. The do exactly as their names suggest, the sand wedge is designed to help you get out sand traps or bunkers and the pitching wedge will pitch the ball high up in the air at a relatively sharp angle. This is good for someone who is
not necessarily new to the game and has a fair to middling handicap.
Putters
A golf bag is designed to hold fourteen golf clubs, so you need to ascertain which clubs you are going to use more. The club that everybody needs is a Nike putter. A putter is use at the end of the hole on the green and gives you very good control when hitting the ball over the smoothly short cut grass towards the hole.
