In ancient Greek times, the Grecian's had many icons symbolising Gods. One of these was the Goddess of Victory. Her name was Nike (pronounced Nye-key). The actual name was presented to the company founder, Phil Knight, by his company designer Jeff Johnson. The world's largest sportswear manufacturer was born.
